These photos were taken as we approached the Island of Mykonos.
The first day in Mykonos, we toured by foot. The next two days we toured via scooter, with Dick driving and Sandy on back.
We stayed in the village of Ornos, at the Anixi Hotel. The first photo came from an Anixi brochure. Photo 2 shows the outside of our room, with Sandy sitting on the terrace. Photo 3 shows us sitting on our scooter in front of the Anixi. Photo 4 was taken from the back of the Anixi and shows part of Ornos harbor.
Photo 1 was taken from our patio and shows the awesome stone work. There were beautiful stone walls all over the island. Photo 2 is a reminder of our afternoon ouzo breaks! The last photo shows Dick's bicker hairdo.
Photo 1 shows Ornos Village. Photos 2 and 3 show Ornos harbors that are on each side of a narrow isthmus. Photo 4 shows that one of these harbors was really beautiful, the other harbour appeared to be polluted. Photo 5 shows how the beach appears in the busy season. The last photo shows Dick with the first ouzo of his life!
These windmills are famous landmarks in the village of Mykonos. Some of them have been converted into apartments for tourists.
The village of Mykonos is picturesque for its white buildings and beautiful harbor and fascinating for its narrow streets. The streets were created to be very now and twisty to make it difficult for pirates to plunder the town! Photo 3 shows Mykonos harbor and photo 4 shows the two pelican mascots. The last two photos shows two of the fascinating streets.
Mykonos has many great beaches. The first three photos are of Paradise Beach. Photo 3 is of Elia Beach and Photo 4 is of Agrari Beach, a nudist beach.
Here are some other scenes by the water on the island of Mykonos. So many pretty places!
The first photo shows a typical street on the interior of the island - as narrow road bounded on both sides by stone walls. Photo 2 contains a neat looking building. Photo 3 illustrates how the modern buildings on Mykonos are constructed. When completed, this building will be all white, except for blue trim, as are almost all the other buildings on the island.
